This article walks through how to set up a Stripe Terminal Point of Sales Integration with Candid.
Setting up your Stripe Account
Before you can start charging patients with Candid’s Stripe Terminal integration, you’ll need to set up a Stripe account and order your physical terminal devices.
Step 1: Register for a Stripe Account here.
Once you create a new account, you’ll need to complete your business profile to collect payments. Click on Complete Profile on the top right to complete your business and banking information.
Step 2: Ordering Stripe Terminal Devices
Once your Stripe Account is set up navigate to Payments > Terminals to order your devices on the left hand sidebar.
Click on Shop to under order a card reader to purchase your terminal device.
We recommend the Stripe Reader S700 model and strongly recommend ordering additional devices to act as backup devices.
Step 3: Configure Stripe Locations
After ordering your Stripe terminals, navigate back to the Terminal home screen to configure your locations. Click on Create location
Input the name of the location and physical address of where you’ll be collecting payments from.
Step 4: Set up Terminal Devices
Once your devices arrive, power them on and follow the prompts to begin setup. You’ll need to connect your device to your WiFi network in order to use them.
Step 5: Link your Readers to your Stripe Account
Click on Register Reader on the Terminal home page to name the device and put in the registration code. The code can be found on the device once you complete Step 4.
Under Assign to location, select one of the configured physical locations. This will link the terminal with your Stripe account.
Step 6: Connect your Stripe Account to Candid
Log into your Candid account and navigate to Settings & Integrations on the left hand menu. Click on New Stripe integration to set up your Stripe account.
Select the Billing Providers and input your API token to validate and set up your integration. Check out this article for guidance on pulling your API keys. We'll need your secret key.
You can leave the Metadata keys fields as is.
Click on Test Connection before hitting Save & create in order to ensure your API token is valid. Once validated, click on Save & create.
